Kalamazoo’s Feed the World Café Donates Meals This September

Feed the World Café was created to nourish people – patrons and neighbors in need. For every meal served in their restaurant, Feed the World donates a meal to a local hunger-relief organization.

This September they’re upping the ante by joining the Hops Against Hunger campaign. For every beer they sell, Feed the World Café will donate 50 cents to the Food Bank of South Central Michigan, no exceptions. That applies to every brew on their menu.

The Food Bank of South Central Michigan is based in Battle Creek and serves those in need in Kalamazoo County and seven other Michigan counties. In partnership with local partner agencies, they provide food to nearly 190,000 people each year.

It costs the Food Bank about 17 cents to distribute a meal, so Feed the World Café patrons will be providing three meals every time they order a pint.

Feed the World Café is located at 7000 Stadium Drive.

Calling itself “Kalamazoo’s smallest brewery,” Brite Eyes opened in 2015. This brewery is also a breakfast joint, and, yes, you can order a beer with your scrambled eggs, making it an ideal after-work spot for night-shifters. In addition to beer, Brite Eyes offers cider, mead, wine, and espresso drinks.

Arcadia’s wide portfolio of beers includes many inspired by the brewing traditions of England and Scotland. They describe Angler’s Ale as an “authentic English-style pale ale brewed with all English malts and a pound and a half of Pacific Northwest hops per barrel, medium-bodied, crisp, and well-balanced, featuring flavors of caramel, toffee, and toasted malt, counterbalanced by a nice hop bitterness and herbal finish.”
